Go Red for Women 5K

This morning my mom, sister, aunt and I participated in a 5K race benefiting the American Heart Association, GO RED for Women 5K at Downtown Disney. This race allowed people to register as Sister/Sister Teams or Mother/Daughter teams for an extra $10 per team. We were too cheap to pay the $20 and decided to make it more fun by making our own shirts and still letting people know that we were there as a family. The only thing I forgot on the shirts were arrows to point to the correct role. We had an order that we walked in; my aunt, mom, me and then my sister. Hence why we all have Sister on our shirts and then their relationship to me and Stacy. It was a little confusing but you get the point; there's 2 sister/sister teams and my mom with 2 daughters.

The professional photographers took notice of our shirts and took plenty of pictures. We'll definitely end up buying at least one of the professional photos which means that the $20 we saved actually ended up costing more.

This was their first medaled race and it is a beautiful medal with the American Heart Associations' symbol for women, the little red dress. My mom and sis even did a PR by walking the 5K in 44:20. It's always fun to do these races as a team.

Big High 5's to you all! I loved reading todays entry and seeing what you all had done. Something like this betters everybody. You get the exercise, they get monies for their cause, and you get to do it all with your loved ones! Great!
