Originally, a blog for our year living and working in the Japanese island of Kyushu. Now that we are back home, its just the average blog. We'll update friends and family on whatever is going through our heads.

A New Chapter

It's been a while since I've updated on our "lives" and quite a bit has changed. Everything has been going well for us. Recently, Nick and I both changed jobs. Nick is managing a local "entertainment" store and will start teaching Management (part-time) at the local community college in January. I recently started working for a non-profit organization that will provide transitional housing to homeless women and children. I'll also continue teaching Sociology part-time at the community college.

It has taken a little while for things to fall back into place after returning from Japan but we finally feel like we're moving forward rather than "on hold". This week we decided that we'd move into our little house. The house has been vacant since June. Originally, we put it up on the market for sale/rent but now we decided it's best if we move into it, make it a home, and wait for the market to improve. I can't wait to open up all the boxes that have been stashed away for a year and a half. We don't even know what we have anymore. Nick and I are very excited to have a place to make into a home again. Come visit us sometime!

I have seen their little house, and it is quite lovely. Who knows, they may have houseguests before they know it! Ron and I have sold our townhome, and have not found a place as yet. With our home up for showing, I too know what it feels like to be caught in limbo. Now from what I understand, Steph has been talking to the walls to see what color they want to be. I am excited that you guys are going to have your own home again. We'll see you both settled soon.
