Oriental Lily

This weekend Nick and I took a trip to Lowe's to search for plants for our new landscape in the front yard. As we walked to the back of the garden center, we found some neglected plants placed in a clearance rack. I felt like we had to rescue them all...sort of like when you visit the pound. I was so upset that Lowe's had just "given up" on these plants. They looked like they had not been watered in weeks. Even though we couldn't find any plants that would fit the landscape, we still rescued some Oriental lilies and some Amaryllis.

Two days later, I walked out my front door and one of the Oriental lilies had bloomed. They are just gorgeous. Here are some pics:

I love this pic!

Hey, I know what you mean.  I am in the beginnings of the same like change of our front walk, and went in search of plants today.  I am sorry to say, I did not rescue any plants at this time, but will later.  I have seen the same plants in need of a good home in many trips in the past.  Next time I will dedicate my time to the rescue needed plants.
