Starting a Vegetable Garden

It's been 6 months in the making but I've finally taken the time to start my vegetable garden. It seems that I've picked a bad time to start one because all the stores I visited were out of most seeds I wanted (i like to start from scratch!). Today, I asked why there weren't any seeds and the cashier informed me that the distributor took some seeds back and will send more in August- because that's when it's good to plant vegetables in Florida. Given that it's taken me this long to start my own I figured I'd get a head start and start growing my seeds NOW rather than wait until August. I figured it's just as hot now as it is in August so the seeds won't know it's not August.
I purchased some tomato, sweet corn, cucumbers, banana peppers, rosemary, and cilantro seeds. Below are some pictures of my little windowsill greenhouse with the corn, tomato, and cucumber seeds. We'll see if they sprout as they should (within 10 days). This is my vegetable garden, Day #1.

WOW! Little signs and everything. I started my cukes from seed just a couple weeks ago and they are doing great. Also at that time I started, parsley, cilantro, squash, canalope, and radishes. The radishes are not doing well. I think you just don't want to bake them in the sun. Good luck! Looking forward to an ear of that corn!
