Day 3 of Puerto Rico- Old San Juan
So, I've decided to take over the Puerto Rico blog stories since Nick has been too busy to do it.
Here it goes...
Here it goes...
San Juan is the capital of PR and the "touristy" historic side of it it's known as Old San Juan. Old San Juan is known for its narrow cobblestone roads and its colorful storefronts/residences.
There are a few places in Old San Juan that are a must see- "La Capilla del Cristo" (Christ's Chapel), Pigeon Park and El Morro.
Ashleigh was not looking forward to the Pigeon ("rats with wings") Park. She didn't want to go inside to feed them. There she is in the background (white dress).
Above are pictures from El Morro, the fort that protected San Juan back in the day when Spaniards occupied the island.
Then we headed to El Morro. El Morro is a fort built by the Spaniards centuries ago. The Fort in St. Augustine, FL is almost a replica of this fort. This fort protected the island from attacks.
